The apartment preserves the poet’s writings and the distinctive aura of his worldview. Here, everyone can enter the authentic setting that once domestically and spiritually shaped and inhabited by Aleksandrs Čaks, a world-class author, minstrel of urban life and female charm, pioneer of modern Latvian poetry. The apartment's first two rooms have been rebuilt and adjusted to cater for visitors’ comfort and needs and to be used as an exhibition space. Meanwhile the apartment’s principal asset – a complete and authentic memorial ensemble – consists of two rooms where the poet resided and created. His abundant library of books by Latvian and international authors confirms the grand scale of Čaks’s literary interests, while an excellent art collection helps recreate the aura of Rīgan art life.
Čaks’s apartment is often used to host literary events. Here, the public can meet contemporary poets, writers and artists.
The museum has an audio guide in Latvian, English and Russian languages that gives detailed information about the poet’s life, habits, interests and family.
