The palace introduces visitors to Latvia’s forest management traditions and the cultural and historical heritage of the manor complex. The story begins as soon as you enter the palace, welcomed by the unique painted tile stove from Zelm & Boehm, and continues as you walk through the Art Nouveau-style salons to the memorial room dedicated to the first owner of the palace, George Armistead.
On the 2nd floor of the palace, the Forest Museum exhibition invites visitors to engage with the display and learn about the living nature of Latvia’s forests in an interactive way – by looking at stuffed animals, listening to bird and animal voices, touching fur samples and footprints, exploring the world of trees, plants and mushrooms or examining the old forestry tools and discovering the process of forest maintenance through archive photos. Almost any visitor will definitely find something interesting and worth trying.
Rooms for conferences and parties are offered. A cafe is open during the summer season.
