The museum is located in Aizkraukle, in a cultural and historical complex “Kalna Ziedi”. On one side, it borders with an apple orchard dotted with medieval round crosses and chapiters, on the other – with the Star Glen and the hill fort of Kalna Ziedi. A walking path along the bank of the River Daugava is another nearby attraction.

Museum garden has a bonfire site, and visitors can try their hand at some old-time games and other amusements.

The main exhibition, “Tales of the Daugava Riverbanks”, reveals how people lived along the River Daugava from ancient times until the first half of the 20th century.

The museum offers a wide range of exhibitions (painting, applied art, photography and local studies).

An open public-access collection is available 1 April through 31 October.
