The author’s first home in Skrīveri was built in 1908. During World War I, it burned down, and, in 1921 the house-turned-museum was built on the foundations of the old residence.
The garden is an essential part of the author’s creative legacy that affords a clearer perspective on his life’s work. The garden created by the author of the novel “The Green Land” reveals one of the sources of quintessentially national values in his writing.
The museum is a structural unit of the Memorial Museum Association.
