Bauska Museum is located in the historic centre of Bauska in a building whose history dates back more than 120 years into the past. It preserves archaeological, historical, artistic and ethnographic evidence about the history of Bauska from the most ancient times into the present day. The 20th century in Bauska’s history was a time of major shifts and upheavals.
Visitors are offered exhibition displays that reflect Bauska’s history throughout the 20th century, giving a sense of the broader cultural and historical setting in Zemgale and the economic and cultural diversity in Bauska. The museum’s one-of-a-kind permanent display of toys is unique to Latvia. It takes visitors into the world of toys and dolls with specimens ranging from late 19th to early 21st century.
