The Daugava Museum is located in Dole Manor House, built in the eclectic style in 1898. It  has been open to the public since 1977. Here, you can learn about the cultural history of Daugava and Salaspils District, see unique materials about Latvia’s ancient history, such as a dwelling of the first stone-age people who lived in the Salaspils Country School Settlement (around 9000 B.C.). You can find out what the Daugava Valley looked like before its current cascade of hydroelectric power plants and compare today’s scenery with the past. On the bank of the River Daugava, in the vast parkland, a hundred-year-old fishing farm typical for the downstream area can be explored along with modern-day replicas of some unique fishing gear known as eel and lamprey weir.

A number of different sites for recreation and outdoor activities are available, such as picnic spots and gazebos for open-air events. Each year, seasonal festivals and open-air concerts in different musical genres are held here.
