Kazdanga Museum is located in an architectural monument of national importance – Kazdanga Palace, whose foundation stone was laid in 1800. The building was constructed under the supervision of architect Johann Georg Adam Berlitz. It is one of the most monumental classicism-style buildings in Courland. The palace was burned down in 1905, therefore no historical interior remains in the building, but the second floor hall still retains its amazing acoustics, general shape and story.
Kazdanga Museum invites visitors to explore the history of Kazdanga Palace and its manor buildings, take a tour of the park and find amusement in various creative workshops on palace premises.
The mission of Kazdanga Museum is to offer visitors informative quality leisure activities focused on exploring the history of Kazdanga and sensing its special aura, from daily routines in Katzdangen Manor and the bustle of the Soviet agricultural college to contemporary developments in Kazdanga Civil Parish. All with a view to encouraging respect and love of their birthplace among the locals and entering into a dialogue with parish guests that would make them want to return here.
