The purpose of the Latvian National Museum of Art is to educate the public and to encourage its interest in the historical and artistic evidence of visual art, decorative art and design created in Latvia and beyond, emphasising the national school of the arts and placing it in the broader contexts of cultural history and contemporary processes.
