Latvian National Museum of Natural History offers modern and interactive displays, museum tours, a vast range of educational programmes, diverse exhibitions and environmental education events for families with children, schoolchildren and the general public.

Among the many exhibits featured in the displays about palaeontology, geology, botany, zoology, entomology, anthropology and environmental science, visitors can see locally found 360 million-year-old armoured fish fossils and dinosaur eggs, experience an earthquake simulation, appreciate the value of Latvian clay and examine a real magnified diamond. In addition, visitors can see record-breaking insects, marine life, Latvia’s largest mammal and the world’s smallest armadillo, mushroom models and bird collections.

Some of the displays are boosted with games and animations. Interactive aids for in-depth study of the topic are also available.
