Durbe Manor is the only former manor house in Latvia, where the historical interior from the turn of the 20th century has been fully reconstructed to give a sense of the Baltic German culture of the period. It is widely regarded as a pearl of classical architecture, surrounded by a landscaped park and a rotunda with Latvia’s longest pedestrian bridge.

On the first floor of the manor house, visitors can see reconstructed historical interiors – a study, a library, the grand hall and the round hall, a gentleman’s salon and a lady’s boudoir, a bedroom, a nursery, a dressing room, a bathroom and the manor kitchen. Art objects give a sense of Latvia’s manor culture and afford a tantalising glimpse into some of the key phenomena in European art. On the second floor, the museum offers research based exhibitions on relevant and understudied topics in the fields of history and art history, including an exhibition about the poet Rainis and his association with Durbe Manor. The offers also includes guided tours, educational programmes and competence education programmes for pupils, classical concerts and wedding programmes for newlyweds.
