Free of charge, everyone can enjoy a number of permanent displays, unique archaeological artefacts, artworks and other evidence of the era that tell about the history of Liepāja, from the stone age up to the 19th century. In addition, visitors can trace the life and creativity of a 20th-century artist and woodcarver, Miķelis Pankoks. Come and see the exhibitions, and discover the spirits, tastes and aesthetics of coastal people! To celebrate the centenary of Latvian statehood and commemorate the fact that in 1919 Liepāja became a temporary capital of Latvia, in November 2018, a special exhibition display was created about this brief but significant period in history.
