The exhibitions “Slutišķi Old Believers’ Farmstead” and “Upāni Farmstead” are located in the authentic, still-inhabited village of Slutišķi and present the spiritual and everyday culture of the Latgalian Old Believers.

From October to April, the museum is open Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 16.30 by prior appointment.

• teachers who accompany a group of children or learners

• minors with disabilities, adult visitors with Group I and Group II disabilities (upon presenting a disability certificate) and one attendant per minor with disabilities or per adult visitor with Group I disabilities

• tour guide who accompanies a group of tourists (for groups of 15+ people)

• Latvian museum workers and members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM)

By exploring the two farmsteads and listening to the life stories of the owners, Isaja and Fedosija, visitors can gain insight into Old Believers’ spiritual culture, traditions, everyday life and the tools used in rural work. The museum offers the exhibitions “Prayer Room”, “Old Believers’ Residential House”, “The Carpenter’s Trade in Latgale in the First Half of the 20th Century”, “Animal Husbandry in Latgale in the First Half of the 20th Century”, “Horse-Drawn Farming Tools in Augšdaugava Municipality”, as well as a wide range of thematic exhibitions.
