The fashion museum is a private museum, opened in 2016 and located in Old Rīga, near the House of the Blackheads. In cooperation with the Alexander Vassilyev Foundation, it offers unique exhibitions of gowns from different periods. The interactive room invites to travel through time and different fashion styles: light, music and “live” gowns that speak different languages immerse visitors in the culture and atmosphere of days gone by. Essentially, the Fashion Museum is more than just a storage and display facility for historical outfits. It aims to tell engaging stories about history and material culture through fashion. Therefore, in every exhibition you can try on an outfit, learn about the historical context and have a little fun: do a test, solve a photo puzzle with your children, try on some “beauty spots” or mouches and explore the language of fans.
