The old granary of Vecgulbene Manor was built in the second half of the 19th century as a grain storage facility. Here, farmers from Vecgulbene Civil Parish stored their grain reserve - a safeguard against poor harvests and other calamities. These days, the Granary is a public space where visitors can enjoy an exhibition room, an open-storage collection and a permanent exhibition display “National Economy”. Since 2006, the Granary has been gradually revitalised and filled with new contents. Today, ethnography continues to stir people’s imaginations by inspiring newlyweds, pupils, artisans and others towards creative activities.
