The museum is located in a more than 120-year-old building, surrounded by a scenic park amidst the industrial area of Sarkandaugava. The same diversity and contrasts are also present is the exhibition story – not only in the history of the house, but also in the cultural and historical developments in Latvia as a whole from the 19th to the 21st century.
The history of the lavish House of Dauderi, its many owners and radically different functions are vibrant witnesses to the past, from cultural boom and rapid shifts of power to historical clash points and wartime calamities. A glimpse into the interiors of different epochs is accompanied by unique exhibits and latest research-based information about the fate of the house and its owners.
A digital app and other multimedia solutions help to explore the history of the building, the gardens and the surrounding area, as well as the collection of noted patron of the arts, Gaidis Graudiņš.
