The museum is located in the former servants’ house and the renovated stables of the palace complex. It offers a unique display “Five Oars”, set out in a 17 metres long improvised boat. The coat of arms of the town of Krāslava features a silver boat with five oars representing its five nationalities: Latvians, Poles, Jews, Russians and Belarusians. The purpose of the “Five Oars” display is to trace the interaction of these nationalities over the centuries, from prehistoric times to the present day.

Interior display “Count Plater Attorney’s Cabinet” illuminates the fates of the last owners of Krāslava Manor and its stewards. The display “At One Table” is an opportunity to learn about the culinary heritage of the nationalities that live in the area, which has been preserved and laid on the table from generation to generation. The latest display, “Artist Valentīns Zlidnis’s Studio”, tells the story of Latgale's flamboyant painter Valentīns Zlidnis, touching on his life and creative outputs. The animation “When Paintings Come Alive … The Moods in the Art of Valentīns Zlidnis” gives an unconventional glimpse into the artist’s creativity.
