Visitors to the museum can learn about the origins of school life. Here we find out about local luminaries such as Ernests Dinsbergs, Krišjānis Barons, Jānis Dreibergs, Fricis Dravnieks and Sofija Dravniece.
Kubalu School was the workplace of Ernests Dinsbergs (1816-1902), one of the first Latvian cultural workers. The teacher’s garret apartment, built in 1878, is rich in artefacts by Ernests Dinsbergs. He taught school for forty years and was an active writer for seventy. In total, Dinsbergs penned around 150 books. In terms of contents and themes, many of them were the first publications about the issues in question in the Latvian language.
Walking paths created in the vicinity of the old parish school are freely available to every traveller or museum visitor.
