The exhibition display of the Energy Museum is located in Ķegums, at the cradle of united Latvian energy supply and Latvenergo Group. Here every visitor – from a curious child to an expert in the field – can learn about the history and development of Latvia’s energy sector. In the open-air display, the turbines of the historical hydroelectric power plants of Ķegums and Pļaviņas are exhibited along with other equipment.

The open-access depository site in Ķegums displays control equipment panels from the Valmiera substation, electricity meters, various communication devices and a customised car adapted to the needs of an electricity repair brigade as well as other evidence about the history of the energy sector.

The history of the industry and energy heritage are available remotely on the website of the Virtual Energy Museum.

The Energy Museum holds a large collection of photographic plates by cinematographer and photographer Eduards Kraucs (1898-1977) about the building of the power plant in Ķegums (1936-1940). The collection is included in the Latvian national list of UNESCO Memory of the World Register.
