The museum “Latvians Abroad” focuses on the history of emigration from Latvia over the past 200 years. It stores artefacts that reflect the many reasons and experience of leaving and show the continuing lives of Latvian expatriates, their communities and efforts to maintain their affiliation with Latvia from different perspectives.
For our collection, we are looking for evidence in the form of artefacts, writing, art, audio-visual and digital materials such as the personal and administrative belongings of the expatriates, photographs, books, letters, crafts, tools and oral evidence.
