Mini Motor Museum under the auspices of the Children and Youth Centre “Auseklis” was established in 1993 with a view to identifying and studying, collecting, maintaining and promoting the development of mini motor sports and related technologies in Latvia from its beginnings in 1960 into the present day. The 1970s was the dawn of the Golden Moped Movement whose intangible cultural heritage has crossed the century divide and remains a sustainable tradition of Latvia’s unparalleled popular motorisation culture.
The exhibition display illuminates the history pages of Latvia’s motor sports: its pioneers and luminaries, the construction period of the Red Star Factory, its first models and competitions.
The exhibition highlights the performance and growth of the young and talented aspirers from the Motor Club “Auseklis” along with the success stories of other athletes in their progression from mini sports to big motor sports. A major historical record in the anneals of Latvia's speedway and motor sports, also featured in the display, is the revival of Rīgan speedway at the Motor Club “Auseklis” in 2017.
